1. What we use
Aekpani SEO currently uses essential cookies and browser capabilities needed for authentication, security, preferences, PWA installation, and fair-use enforcement. We do not currently use the public SiteScan to serve third-party behavioural advertising.
2. Essential session and security cookies
When you sign in or interact with forms, the application may set encrypted session and anti-forgery cookies. These keep you signed in, protect form submissions, and route requests to the correct workspace. Blocking them can prevent account features from working.
3. Free-scan visitor identifier
When a public scan is submitted, we may set aekpani_scan_visitor, a signed pseudonymous identifier. It does not contain your name or email. It helps count daily scans consistently even if a network address changes. The cookie is protected against modification and is set with security attributes appropriate to the connection.
4. IP-based enforcement
We also count successful scan attempts against an IP-address key. Using both the signed visitor identifier and IP address makes simple cookie deletion or IP switching less effective. The default allowance is three free scans per visitor or IP per day, although an administrator may increase, reduce, or disable the allowance.
5. When an attempt counts
An attempt is counted when a valid public scan request is accepted. The service may release a count when validation fails or a request cannot be accepted. Cached reports may still count because the service has processed the request and issued an independent report.
6. Local storage and PWA features
The browser or installed PWA may retain limited device-side state needed for installation prompts, offline presentation, network status, or interface preferences. A service worker can cache application assets so the installed app opens reliably. Account and scan data remain subject to the Privacy Policy.
7. Managing cookies
You can remove or block cookies through browser settings, but sign-in, security, saved preferences, and scan-limit handling may stop working. Removing the visitor cookie does not reset the IP-based allowance. Trying to bypass a limit violates the Acceptable Use Policy.
8. Future analytics or optional cookies
If we introduce non-essential analytics, advertising, or similar tracking that requires additional notice or consent, we will update this policy and provide appropriate controls before using it.
